Richard A. Schriskey, 78, of Washington Passed away Wednesday November 26, 2025.
He was born December 12, 1946 in Washington the son of the late George and Frances Samida Schriskey.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played softball for both the Industrial and Ten Mile leagues. He also liked woodworking and playing the guitar.
A graduate of Washington High School Class of 1965, he then served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. During his naval service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, two Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea).
He was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Washington.
Mr. Schriskey was employed as a machinist for many years and later worked at Allegheny Ludlum Steel from where he retired. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post #175, the Pulaski Club, Polish Club, Jessop Club and Moose.
He is survived by two children Richard Schriskey, Jr. and Kerry (Brian) Stewart. He was a beloved Dad and Grand Pap and adored his grand-baby Alexia Stewart. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Kathy Schriskey and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Carol Ann Maloy and two brothers Kenneth Schriskey and Robert Schriskey.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday December 3, 2025 in Washington Cemetery followed by full military honors to be provided by the United States Navy and the American Legion Post #175 Honor Guard.
