Guiseppe Milioto Obituary

Guiseppe (Joseph) Milioto, 83, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Born on February 26, 1942, he was the son of Agostino Milioto and Theresa Sammartino Milioto. A proud graduate of Canonsburg High School, Class of 1960, Joe remained connected to his classmates throughout his life, serving on the reunion committee and enjoying frequent lunches with old friends.

Joe began his career in 1966 at Pennsylvania Transformer, where he worked for more than twenty‑five years. In 1996, he joined the Washington County Controller’s Office, continuing his dedicated service there until his retirement in 2012.

A passionate advocate for his community, Joe devoted many years to public service. He was elected to the Canonsburg Borough Council in the 1990s and went on to serve as Council President. He also contributed his experience as a member of the Canonsburg Planning Commission. His commitment to civic engagement extended to local political efforts, including his role as Campaign Manager for the Honorable Brandon P. Neuman.

In honor of his parents—who married in Sicilia, Italy, in 1920 before immigrating to the United States—Joe founded the Greater Canonsburg Italian American Association (CIAA) in 1992. Through his leadership, and with the steadfast support of then–Pennsylvania State Representative Timothy Solobay, the CIAA made meaningful and lasting contributions to the community, including assisting in the restoration of the Town Clock and donating the Arts Stage at Town Park.

Joe was also known for his love of classic cars, especially his cherished red 1992 Mustang convertible, which he proudly drove in Canonsburg’s Fourth of July parades. His devotion to heritage, public service, and community left a legacy.

Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Patricia (Haynes) Milioto, whom he married on February 7, 1992. The couple recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his children, Debra S. (Joseph) Bujalski, Tracy L. Milioto, and Joseph A. (Michelle Gratzmiller) Milioto.  Joe and his children shared many fond memories attending Pitt football games.  A devoted supporter of his hometown teams, Joe was an enthusiastic fan of all Pittsburgh sports.

Also surviving are his stepchildren, Leslie A. (Terri) Zanaglio, Tracy L. Barringer, and James A. (Susie) Zanaglio; grandchildren Cody, Tyler, Brooke, and Dylan; and great‑grandson Luca.  Joe shared a special bond with his sister‑in‑law, Carol Bellotti, and especially treasured her visits—often made sweeter by the arrival of his favorite treats.

Friends will be received from 2:00pm – 8:00pm on Friday, February 20, at the Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, Inc., James N. DeAngelo, Supervisor, Dale D.
